Richard Dean Associates was established in 1975 by partners Richard Bazirgan and Dean Goodwin as a manufacturers' representative firm based in New England. Dean left the business in 1984 and Dick remains the sole principal and has been perfecting his marketing skills in the audio industry for 30 years. His blend of personality, professionalism and experience is a rarity in our industry and his outstanding relationships with manufacturers and retail chain stores has been the key element to achieving results based upon long-term sell through. Dick's commitment to assure the best customer service possible keeps the RDA team at the forefront of the industry.

Dick (Baz) founded Richard Dean Associates Inc. in 1975. Prior to starting RDA, he was Vice President of Marketing and Sales for a consumer electronics company. He has been involved MI, Pro and Commercial Markets over four decades and continues to lead a team of extremely well qualified, motivated professionals who believe service to the customer and the manufacturer are the keys to his company¹s longevity. Dick is a veteran, and a Northeastern University graduate where he was a three year football starter. Dick is married, with four married children and eight grandchildren.
Bill has been in our industry for over 30 years and is a graduate of U Mass-Amherst with a BA in Marketing. He recently celebrated his 20th anniversary with RDA. Bill oversees our commercial and large AV accounts and also directly supports our AV consultant community. He holds certifications in Dante, Q-SYS, Shure MXA, MXW and P300. Bill conducts our monthly meetings, manages our sales efforts, and is the 'Numbers Guy'. In his spare time, Bill feeds a long- running guitar addiction.
JD has been in the audio industry for over 20 years, starting in sales at The Music People, Inc. His first 10 years in the national distribution market has given him a unique perspective into the many channels of the pro audio industry. His background and commitment to customer service was right in step with RDA's sell-through philosophy. JD handles a variety of distribution, MI retail and pro sound accounts.
Fred has been in the industry since 1985 and has been working as a manufacturers' representative since 1992. Fred joined the RDA team in 2013. His focus is on the AV systems market and he holds certifications for Dante, Q-SYS, Shure Integrated Systems Certification Level 1, MXA, MXW, P300 and SynAudCon digital training. Riding his Harley, playing guitar, English ales and travel occupy his spare time.
Based in Buffalo, Dave focuses on AV Systems and Pro channels in our western NY region and has considerable experience in both systems design and installation. He holds certifications in Dante, Q-SYS, Shure MXA, MXW and P300. With over 25 years in the business in numerous positions, Dave has broad knowledge of the industry and brings those skills to our customer base. Dave is also a member of AES and NARAS.
Adam has worked in Sales and Customer Service for over 10 years. From MI sales to broadcast audio, wireless intercom and video production sales, his experience provides a strong foundation to support our Systems and Pro dealers. He is certified in Dante, Q-SYS Shure MXA, MXW, P300. Adam has a BS from UVM. A self-proclaimed “geek” when it comes to guitar and bass gear, he has been an active musician for many years and enjoys home recording.
Matt is a Berklee alumni and spent two years at Talamas selling wireless microphone systems. He then worked as the senior audio engineer at MIT for 16 years, where he mixed live sound for every kind of event and moved into designing, installing and commissioning dozens of AV systems for classrooms and meeting spaces. He also managed the nearly 500 channels of wireless mics on campus and he built, managed and operated the campus recording studio. He actively works in audio post production and music composition for a wide variety of film and video projects and he’s an active runner. He basically never sleeps.
Lew is no stranger to the New England MI scene. He was with Daddy's Junky Music for over 30 years, filling multiple roles from store manager to buyer. His focus is with the Guitar Center and Sam Ash locations in our territory. He's well respected by management and associates alike. Lew takes great pride in having been a part of the emerging 60's music scene and once saw the Beatles perform in Boston. Lew is also a certified high school basketball official in New Hampshire.
Tim comes to us with over 20 years experience in the pro audio industry. He has owned and operated a production / rental company working as a live and recording engineer for various regional and national acts. Tim has also worked as an integrator and consultant for over 15 years with clients including New York Racing Association, Vent fitness, YMCA, and the Albany Catholic Dioceses. He has an extensive retail background having managed a retail pro audio department for the past 18 years and has been in MI sales for over 20 years.
Sean has been with RDA for over fifteen years and has received numerous awards for excellent customer service. He has many years of experience both as a working musician and audio engineer. Sean specializes in computer based audio recording and music technology and he holds certifications from Dante, Q-SYS, Shure Integrated Systems Certification Level 1, MXA, MXW and P300. He oversees both retail and commercial accounts and is our 'IT guy'. His product knowledge, professional attitude and warm personality make manufacturers and dealers feel right at home.
Suzie has been with Richard Dean for over 20 years. Prior to her joining the RDA team, she ran the order department at a consumer electronics firm, allowing her to easily relate to the vendors she deals with every day. Her years of experience in this field make her an excellent troubleshooter and problem solver. Suzie¹s work with both our vendors and our customers allows our sales staff the time needed to develop and write sales. Her other duties consist of the day to day business operations.
Amy comes to Richard Dean with over 15 years of customer service and administrative experience. Prior to RDA, Amy worked as an office manager for a small financial services firm. Her primary role is to support the office with order entry, RAs, and other administrative tasks. She is involved in the local community having volunteered with local schools and has served on the Board of Directors for Newburyport Youth Hockey. Amy can often be found cheering on her children at their various athletic events.
Monica comes to Richard Dean Associates with over 8 years of experience in the MI and Pro Audio Industry. Monica moved to Boston in 2013 from Montreal, Canada. Prior to RDA she worked at SFM in Montreal as a product manager, developing brand strategy and marketing plans. During her time in the profession she also occupied the roles of purchasing and customer service giving her a well-rounded understanding of the business. She received her BCOM in International Business with a minor in Marketing from Concordia University.
